GMR Varalakshmi CARE Hospital, an initiative of the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, the CSR arm of GMR Group reflects the Group’s enduring commitment to societal wellbeing through accessible and quality healthcare. Inaugurated on April 2, 2011, by the then Hon’ble Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the hospital has since grown into a trusted multi-specialty institution.
Located on a 25-acre campus with a planned capacity of up to 500 beds, the facility is poised to evolve into a comprehensive healthcare and medical education hub, with future provisions for a medical college and nursing school.
With a current strength of 200 beds, the hospital offers integrated healthcare services across a wide range of specialties, including General Medicine, General Surgery, ENT, Neurosciences, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Neonatology, and Paediatrics. In the financial year 2023–24, the hospital served 88,869 outpatients and 8,457 inpatients—underscoring its growing role as a vital healthcare provider in the region.
24 hours emergency and casualty services ensure immediate medical attention, while a centrally air-conditioned OPD block provides well-equipped consultation chambers across all specialties. Weekly super-specialty clinics further enhance the scope and depth of care available to the community.
With advanced medical infrastructure, the hospital is equipped with dedicated Medical, Surgical, and Paediatric Intensive Care Units, in addition to specialised Male and Female General Wards, an exclusive Paediatric Ward, and fully equipped Labour Rooms. Three laminar flow operation theatres support high-precision surgical procedures, enhancing the hospital’s overall clinical capabilities.

Equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technology, GMR Varalakshmi CARE Hospital houses cutting-edge medical equipment including a Siemens 96-slice CT scanner, the first of its kind powered by Artificial Intelligence, alongside Digital X-ray systems, high-frequency mobile X-ray units, ultrasound imaging, TMT Echo, laparoscopic machines, infusion pumps, ventilators, anaesthesia workstations, and hemodialysis machines. The hospital also features automated laboratory analyzers for immunology, haematology, and biochemistry, as well as urology endoscopes, electrocardiography systems, and high-precision sterilization units such as high-pressure steam sterilizers, autoclaves, and bio-safety cabinets. To support patient comfort and convenience, the hospital offers a range of accommodation options, including air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned single rooms, as well as twin-sharing rooms.
